VOCAL COACHING POLICIES
TUITION:
• New Students may book one 60-minute trial session for $99.
• After the trial, Students who continue will select a monthly tuition plan. If their enrolment begins mid-month, the remaining weeks for that calendar month will be billed at their credit value (average weekly rate of coaching).
• Our standard tuition rates/credits are based on an average of 52 weeks/year:
30-minute slot – $349/month (Administrative Credit Value: $80)
60-minute slot – $499/month (Administrative Credit Value: $115)
Please contact Dark Mountain Music for our higher-tier packages.
All tuition plans cover a reserved weekly 1-on-1 time slot, session preparation, detailed session recaps, access to online tools (including EarMaster Pro), custom scale tracks when required, and ongoing text/email support as needed.
SCHEDULING:
• 1-on-1 sessions take place at the same day and time each week.
• Sessions do not take place on Dark Mountain Music’s holidays. If your session falls on a holiday, a credit for the missed week will be applied to the following months tuition.
Dark Mountain Music’s holidays are as follows:
• New Year’s Day – January 1st
• Family Day – The third Monday in February
• Good Friday – The Friday before Easter Sunday
• Easter Sunday
• Easter Monday – The Monday after Easter Sunday
• Victoria Day – The Monday before May 25th
• Canada Day – July 1st
• Heritage Day – The first Monday in August
• Labour Day – The first Monday in September
• National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30th
• Thanksgiving – The second Monday in October
• Halloween – October 31st
• Remembrance Day – November 11th
• Christmas Eve – December 24th
• Christmas Day – December 25th
• Boxing Day – December 26th
• New Year’s Eve – December 31st
STUDENT CANCELLATIONS:
• Our instructors reserve a specific time for each student that cannot be offered to others. For that reason, we are unable to offer credits, refunds, or makeup sessions for student cancellations, regardless of the reason or notice given.
• If the Student knows in advance that they will miss a session, they may: (1) send practice videos for the instructor to review and provide feedback during the scheduled time; (2) request an online session if they’re available but unable to attend in-person; or (3) request to gift their session to a friend or family member.
• If the Student is late without notice: the Instructor will wait 10 minutes before concluding the session and it will be considered a Student Cancellation. If the Student provides notice of their late arrival, they may use the remainder of their session, but no additional time will be offered.
TEACHER CANCELLATIONS:
• If the Instructor cancels a session: a credit will be applied to the following months tuition.
PAYMENTS:
• Payments are made via pre-authorized credit card and receipts are sent via email.
• Tuition is automatically withdrawn on the 1st day of each calendar month. Unless notified otherwise.
LATE PAYMENTS:
• Payments that are declined and/or late will be subject to a $25 late payment fee. The Student will be given up to one week to complete payment until they are withdrawn. Any scheduled sessions during this period will be considered cancellations and no refunds or credits will be offered.
TERMINATING COACHING:
• Students may withdraw from coaching at any time, provided they notify Dark Mountain Music before the end of the current calendar month and complete their coaching for the remainder of the current calendar month.
• Dark Mountain Music reserves the right to withdraw a Student at any time, under any circumstances, including poor attitude, disruptive behaviour, and any form of disrespect towards their coach and/or Dark Mountain Music staff.
