Dark Mountain Music

FAQ

What curriculum do you teach?

We don’t use a one-size-fits-all curriculum — but that doesn’t mean lessons are unstructured. Every student is guided through Dark Mountain Music’s vocal framework, then the work is tailored to your voice, goals, and interests.

That means lessons are built around what actually matters to you — the songs you want to sing, the confidence you want to feel, and the specific challenges holding you back — while still following a clear, proven progression.

What is your cancelation policy?

Our instructors reserve a specific time for each student that cannot be offered to others. For that reason, we are unable to offer credits, refunds, or makeup lessons for student cancellations, regardless of the reason or notice given.

Can I take bi-weekly or monthly sessions?

At Dark Mountain Music, our minimum commitment is weekly coaching. Weekly sessions are an essential check-in to ensure that your practice is kept up with and any bad habits don’t go too long unnoticed.

Do you have terms or semesters?

We operate lessons year round! While some music schools may have terms/semesters, we know first hand that extended periods of time off can greatly set back students hard earned progress.

How do you take payment?

We take payments through Stripe and accept most major credit cards, apple pay, google pay, link, and pre-authorized debit. E-Transfer, cash, and cheques are not accepted forms of payment at this time.

What ages do you teach?

We work exclusively with adults. Our lessons are designed for people who can reflect, practice, and engage with the emotional and mental side of singing. If you’re an adult who’s always wanted to sing but never fully tried, you’re exactly who we’re for.

What are the Instructors qualifications?

Every instructor has a post-secondary music background or proven equivalent experience through audition and real-world results.

More importantly, all instructors teach through Dark Mountain Music’s vocal framework—a structured approach designed specifically for adults. This ensures consistent, clear progress for students, and a focus on real-world singing rather than random exercises or guesswork.

Do I need any experience?

Not at all! We welcome all skill levels. Everyone has to start somewhere!
