Dark Mountain Music

FAQ

What curriculum do you teach?

At Dark Mountain Music we don’t have a set curriculum or method. We find that students remain inspired and progress the most if their lessons are catered to their individual interests and goals. A one size fits all approach to music lessons doesn’t help anyone! Our instructors will work closely with you to identifying your short and long term goals with your music lessons and get them checked off in no time.

What is your cancelation policy?
Need to cancel a lesson? No problem! Please provide your instructor with 24 hours’ advance notice and they will offer you a makeup lesson at an alternate date. In respect to our Teachers busy schedules, cancelations provided without 24 hours notice will be forfeited and non-refundable.
Can I take bi-weekly or monthly lessons?
At Dark Mountain Music, our minimum commitment is weekly lessons. Weekly lessons are an essential check-in to ensure that your practice is kept up with and any bad habits don’t go too long unnoticed. Even the most seasoned players still take weekly lessons to get a second opinion!
Do you have terms or semesters?
We operate lessons year round! While some music schools may have terms/semesters, we know first hand that extended periods of time off can greatly set back students hard earned progress.
How do you take payment?
We take payments through Stripe and accept most major credit cards, apple pay, google pay, link, and pre-authorized debit. E-Transfer, cash, and cheques are not accepted forms of payment at this time.
What ages do you teach?
While we are open to all ages, we recommend students enrolling are at least 4 years old to see the benefits and progress associated with lessons.
What are the Instructors qualifications?
We evaluate instructors based on a multitude of factors. considering their education, experience, and attitude. Every one of our Instructors possess a post-secondary education in a specialized music program, are certified by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), or have proven equivalent expertise by audition and at least 10 years of playing experience.
Do I need any experience?
Not at all! We welcome all ages and skill levels. Everyone has to start somewhere!
